Net no.2

cotton & dowel

250×250cm

2025

Shown at OUTPOST Gallery for ‘Insided’ presented by Binder of Women

The fabric net is seen as a soft grid - a gentle framework that holds space without commanding it. Unlike the stern geometry of the architectural or modernist grid, it sags and sways, giving moments of vulnerability within the structure.

Cotton

350x350cm

2025

This is the first net I’ve made - resembling the grid, the symbol of modernism, it becomes something warmer & more intimate made of textiles.

Grid no.1, Disposable Table Cloth, 190x200cm, 2025

The soft grid, the resistance to rigidity, made from an overtly domestic material that holds structure in its folds & creases.

Ladder no.1 (wip), Scrap Fabrics, 720x45cm, Binnel Bay, Isle of Wight 2025

Like that of a quilt, this ladder was made with the help of my mother & daughter - an intergenerational collaboration.
